A 29-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences in Leicester.
Max Benrose, of Heather Road, Leicester, was charged yesterday (Tuesday 12 March) with possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, one count of driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the limit, one count of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and a fifth charge of using a motor vehicle without insurance.
He appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ court earlier today (Wednesday) where he was remanded back into custody to appear at magistrates’ court on 21 March.
The charges relate to incidents on Monday (11 March) when a van, stolen from Heather Road, was involved in collisions with other vehicles before it was abandoned in Scott Court. A short while later a man entered a shop in Knighton Fields Road East alleged to be in possession of two knives.
