Two women, aged 29 and 30, from Leicester, arrested following a break-in at a city centre store, have been released from custody.
Officers were called to Flannels in Halford Street, shortly after midnight yesterday (Monday 11 March) after thousands of pounds worth of clothing was taken.
The five suspects gained entry after reversing a vehicle – confirmed as being a blue Suzuki SX4 – into the glass-fronted entrance of the shop.
The clothing was put in the boot of the car by three of the suspects before driving off at speed minutes later. A white VW Golf was also at the scene during the burglary and left in convoy with the Suzuki.
Both vehicles headed out of the city along the A47 and on to Tudor Road.
The Suzuki was located, and subsequently recovered, by police in Western Park Road yesterday.
Further enquiries led officers to execute a warrant at an address in Aikman Avenue last night, where a large quantity of clothing believed to be from the store was found.
Two women were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods - they have since been released under investigation.
Officers continue to appeal to anyone with information, about the incident, to call police on 101 quoting crime reference number 19*124006.
