Appeal after vehicle leaves A46 carriageway

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a report of a vehicle leaving the road on the A46 last night.

Police received a report of a vehicle seen on the side of the A46 southbound close to the slip road exit for Beaumont Leys/Anstey at around 11.50pm on Wednesday (20 February).

The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her seventies, is currently in hospital in a serious condition.

Officers are investigating the circumstances in which the vehicle, a silver Ford C-Max, left the road. They would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle driving or the events leading up to it leaving the carriageway to please get in touch.
