Appeal to burglary and car robbery in Measham

Issued on 7/2/19 at 11:24 a.m.

Incident number: 19*62612

Detectives are appealing for information after a burglary in Measham and a car being stolen shortly after.

At around 12.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 February) three men, wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, broke their way into a house in Byron Crescent.

A search of the house was made before the men left in a black Audi A3. It is unknown at this stage if anything was stolen from the house.

Around 15 minutes later, the Audi was involved in a collision in Atherstone Road and was left in a ditch at the side of the road.

A man passing in a blue Ford Focus stopped to assist at the scene and he was pulled from his car and assaulted. His car was stolen by three men before driving off and turning onto the A444 towards Stretton en le Field.

Detective Sergeant Luke Wilsher is appealing for anyone who may have information about either of these incidents to get in touch.

He said: “Sadly this Good Samaritan stopped to help and was left being kicked by one of the men and had his car robbed from him.

“Did you see these men leaving the address in Byron Crescent? Perhaps you saw them in the Audi driving suspiciously before the collision? Did you see a blue ford focus driving badly in and around the Measham area after the robbery? I’d urge anyone who witnessed anything relating to this incidents or has any dashcam footage capturing these cars or the occupants to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 19*62612
