UPDATED Fourth arrest for Eskdale Road - youth bailed

A fourth person who was arrested yesterday (Thursday 31 January) in connection with a serious assault in Beaumont Leys has been bailed.

The youth, who is 17 years old and from Leicester, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers were called to Eskdale Road at around 10.25pm on Friday (25 January) by East Midlands Ambulance Service, following a report that an 18-year-old man had been found injured.

On arrival, it was established that the man had suffered a number of stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Two other youths, both aged 17, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday (30 January) and have since been released on bail.

A 19-year-old man, from Leicester, who was arrested on Saturday (26 January) on suspicion of attempted murder was also released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 773 of 25 January.
