Detectives investigating an arson at a premises in Belgrave Road, Leicester have released an image of a man they would like to speak to.

Police were called just after 10pm on Sunday (6 January) after a fire had broken out at a premises at Belgrave Commercial Centre.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire. Officers were also at the scene throughout the night to assist the fire service.

No-one has been reported injured in the incident.

The fire was started deliberately and is being treated as arson.

Detective Inspector Mark Parish: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances of the incident and a number of avenues are being progressed by our officers.

“As part of our enquiries I have released an image of a man I would like to trace. I would like to ask anyone who may know who this man pictured is to contact us.

“I would also like to continue to ask anyone who may have information regarding this incident to please get in touch.

“We know that there are a number of businesses and properties in this area, in particular people who were dining in the Mirch Masala restaurant at the time.

“If you saw or heard anything which caused you concern or have any CCTV, dash cam or mobile phone footage connected to the incident and haven’t as yet spoken to police, please contact us.”
