A fire at a premises in Belgrave Road, Leicester, is being treated as arson.
Police were called just after 10pm on Sunday (6 January) after a fire had broken out in the area.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance. Leicestershire Police were also at the scene throughout the night to assist the fire service.
Emergency services remain at the scene this morning.
No-one has been reported injured in the incident.
Following initial enquiries, the fire is believed to have been started deliberately. An investigation is ongoing.
Detective Inspector Mark Parish said: “The incident is being treated as arson and we are investigating to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
“There are a number of businesses and properties in this area and so are likely to have been a number of people around at the time. If you were in the area, and saw or heard anything which caused you concern, then we urge you to make contact.
“I am also aware that a number of people were in Belgrave Road at the time of the fire including people recording the incident on their mobile phones. Please check these and if you have any information which you believe may help us, no matter how insignificant it may seem, get in touch.
“Similarly, if you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time, please make contact.”
