Arrests made in Barkby Road robbery

Officers have made two arrests following an armed robbery which happened in Barkby Road, Leicester in August this year.

At around 7.20am on Thursday 30 August, a man went inside a premises and threatened two members of staff with what was believed to be a handgun.

The staff were assaulted but did not receive any injuries. No money was stolen during the robbery.

As part of their enquiries, officers have arrested two men, aged 26 and 27 and from Leicester, on suspicion of robbery. They have since been released under investigation.

Enquiries are continuing into the robbery and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 18*412659.
