Driver suffered serious injuries in collision

A driver suffered serious injuries following a two-car collision in Ryhall, Rutland, yesterday (Tuesday).

The man, who is in his 30s, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, by air ambulance, following the incident in Tolethorpe, near to the A6121 junction, at around 9am.

He currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A second man, who is in his 40s and who was driving the second vehicle involved in the collision, was also taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. He currently remains in hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw either vehicle beforehand – a red Citreon DS3 and a black Mitsubishi Outlander – to make contact.

Detective Constable Pete Davies said: “We are continuing to establish the full circumstances and are asking anyone who was in the area and who has any information to contact us if you have not already done so.

“Did you see either of the vehicles in the area beforehand? Did you witness the incident? Do you have any dashcam from the area which could help?”
