Two men who were injured after an explosion in Glen Parva on Monday afternoon (5 November) remain in hospital.
Police were called to a property in Leicester Road, Glen Parva, following a report that an explosion was believed to have occurred in an outbuilding at the address.
The call came in around 3.10pm and enquiries established that the building had previously been demolished and work was being carried out at the time of the incident.
Two men were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where they remain with serious injuries.
The police and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service carried out enquiries at the scene and can confirm there are no suspicious circumstances.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are now leading on the investigation and will be carrying out further enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
