Man steals cash from elderly woman in Loughborough

An elderly woman was the victim of a distraction burglary in Loughborough yesterday afternoon (Monday 9 July) and officers are urging the public to get in touch if they saw the suspect.

A man knocked on the door of a property in the Park Road area and claimed he was from the waterboard.

While the victim was distracted the suspect stole cash from a purse in the bedroom.

The incident took place around 3.30pm and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been visited in similar circumstances.

The suspect has been described as white, about 5ft 8ins tall, in his early 30s, with dark hair and of slim build. He was wearing a navy blue top and bottoms and black shoes or trainers.

Anyone who saw a man fitting the description of the suspect in the Park Road area yesterday or may have been visited in similar circumstances is asked to contact PC 815 Chris Falle on 101, quoting crime number 18*320610.
