Appeal for Good Samaritan after assault in Leicester

Detectives investigating an assault on a woman in Leicester are appealing for a Good Samaritan who helped her to get in touch.

The incident took place just after midnight on Friday (6 July) at the bus stop near the Iceland store in Narborough Road.

The 30-year-old victim was assaulted by a man and sustained minor injuries. A passer-by intervened during the incident which enabled the victim to run away.

The suspect followed her and the Good Samaritan intervened again and stopped her from being assaulted further.

Officers are urging the man to contact them as he may be able to help with the investigation.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident but he has since been released from custody.
