Appeal for witnesses following burglary in Lutterworth Road

Detectives are trying to trace people travelling along Lutterworth Road, Leicester, yesterday (Thursday 5 July) following a burglary in the area.

The incident happened at around 4.40pm at a house close to the junction with Heybrook Avenue.

The homeowner left the address and spotted three men in a black small car, similar to a VW Polo, acting suspiciously.

When she returned home a short time later the car was parked on the driveway.

One man was in the car and as she walked up to the property two men wearing balaclavas ran out of the address.

The two men in balaclavas are believed to be white, one man is described as large build and the other tall and slim.

An occupant of the address was threatened with a screwdriver. The men left the property with a small quantity of cash.

The car left the scene travelling along Lutterworth Road towards Blaby.

Officers investigating the incident would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any activity in the area, in particular, a man standing at a bus stop close to the junction and anyone who was driving along the road and has a dashcam fitted to their vehicle.
