Motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following collision with car

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision with a car on Melton Road.

Officers were called to the incident during the early hours of this morning (Sunday 10 June) following the collision which involved a black Suzuki motorcycle, which was travelling county bound, and a red Ford Fiesta car, which was travelling towards the city.

The incident happened on Melton Road outside a petrol station near Sandringham Avenue at around 1.20am.

The motorcyclist, a 54-year-old man, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where he currently remains.

No other injuries have been reported.

Officers are appealing for anyone with any information to make contact.

Detective Constable Alison Briance said: “The incident happened in the early hours of the morning and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision, or either of the vehicles driving prior to it, to make contact. If you have any CCTV from the area, or were driving in the area and have dashcam footage, we also urge you to call us.”
