Pedestrian injured following collision in Barkby Road, Leicester

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Barkby Road, Leicester this afternoon.

Police were called at around 12.50pm today (11 January) to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a black Nissan Almera near to the junction with Lewisher Road.

The pedestrian, a woman in her twenties, has been taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where she is currently in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the Almera was not injured.

The road remains closed while officers carry out an examination of the scene.
