UPDATED Cash in transit robbery - vehicle details

Officers appealing for information following a cash in transit robbery have released further details about a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.

A cash box was stolen from a security guard outside Tesco Express in Humberstone Lane at around 8am on Tuesday 2 January.

The suspect was described as medium build, around 5ft 6ins tall and wearing dark coloured clothing, gloves and a scarf covering the lower part of his face.

After snatching the cash box he ran off along Trevino Drive where he left the scene in a dark coloured/grey Honda Civic sports model car which had black alloy wheels.

The security guard was not injured in the incident.

Detective Constable Yassin Desai said: “The vehicle was seen driving erratically around the area of Trevino Drive towards Nicklaus Road, Gleneagles Avenue and Kerrysdale Avenue.

“This was around 8.05am and is likely to have been seen by other people in the area at the time.

“If you did see the vehicle or have any further information in relation to this incident then please get in touch and help with our ongoing enquiries.”
