Public help needed in investigation into collision

Incident number: 811 of 2 December

Police were called at 11.30pm on Saturday night to a report of a pedestrian in collision with a car in Southgates, Leicester.

A 45-year-old man was crossing the road, opposite the junction with Friar Lane, when he was clipped by a grey Honda Civic which knocked him in to the path of a silver Vauxhall Astra, leaving him with serious injuries.

He remains at the Queen’s Medical Centre in a stable condition.

The two cars were both in collision with the man, but didn’t collide with each other.

Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, and who may have seen either the collision or the cars in the moments beforehand.
