Did you witness a robbery and assault in Leicester?

Detectives are investigating a report of a robbery during which the victim was assaulted in Leicester.

Police were called at around 2pm today (Thursday 5 October) by the ambulance service to a report of a man found stabbed in the street in Holderness Road.

Initial enquiries suggest that the victim was robbed of his pedal cycle in nearby Glovers Walk close to the junction with Butterwick Drive and was assaulted. He then managed to walk to Holderness Road where he collapsed.

The victim, a man in his twenties, has been taken to hospital and at this stage, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Investigations are in their early stages and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or saw the victim after the incident to call on 101 quoting incident 407 of 5 October.
