Attempted robbery in Whetstone

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old man was the victim of an attempted robbery in Whetstone, Leicester.

The incident took place around 10.40pm on Sunday 30 July The victim was walking along Trinity Road when he was approached by the occupants of a red Ford Fiesta near the junction with College Road.

The front seat passenger in the Fiesta showed an object to the victim, which he believes may have been a firearm, and demanded money.

The victim ignored the suspects and walked off. The main suspect was white, 19 to 20 years-old, clean shaven, with light coloured hair and of large build. The driver of the vehicle was also white and aged 19 to 20 years-old and he was wearing glasses.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen an old shape Ford Fiesta, possibly five to 10 years old, in the area during the evening of Sunday 30 July or witnessed the incident.
