Burglary at elderly couple's home in Loughborough

An elderly couple have been the victims of a burglary in Loughborough and we need your help to identify those responsible.

The burglary occurred around 5.45pm on Friday (23 December) in Highfields Drive. A man rang the doorbell and when one of the occupants answered the door the suspect pushed and then assaulted the victim.

Another man then entered the property and searched the dining room and kitchen before both suspects made off empty handed.

The victim sustained bruising to his arms but didn’t require medical treatment. He was understandably left quite shocked by the incident.

The suspect who rang the doorbell has been described as a black man, around 30 years old, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing an open top with a chequered shirt underneath.
