Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
The Valley Beat have been consulting with residents and local partners and have identified concerns around speeding vehicles, especially in the villages. As a result over the coming months the team will be concentrating on both education and enforcement of drivers exceeding the posted speed limits in a number of the villages around the beat.
Issued: June 2016
What we are doing:04/08/2016 - Speed checks have been completed by the beat team in a number of villages and locations throughout the valley beat. 30 people have been stopped and given words of advice about their speed, whilst 12 people have been stopped and issued traffic offence reports, meaning their case will be considered by the team who deal with all speeding motorists. Once complete those drivers will either be offered a fixed penalty notice or summonsed to Magistrates Court for their offence. Further checks are planned over the next month at yet more locations. 06/10/2016 - Further speed checks have been completed by the beat team in a number of villages, 10 more people have been given words of advice about their speed. 1 more driver was issued with a Traffic Offence Report for speeding, one was issued for no insurance and the car was seized. 23/11/2016 - Further speed checks have been completed in 3 locations on the beat with no further Traffic Offence Reports for speeding.
