Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
To reduce vehicle crime in the areas of Braunstone Town and Thorpe Astley and target those responsible.
Issued: August 2014
What we are doing:The issue of vehicle crime remains a constant on the Braunstone Town & Thorpe Astley neighbourhood with fluctuations every so often. The MOs are seemingly split between insecure vehicles being searched or windows being smashed where valuables are visible. Local community consultation results are in line with incidents reported however has not provided any significant intelligence that has led to arrests, prosecutions or an improvement in the situation. Frequently the issue of street lighting is raised by residents as the majority of the area is part night lighting with the lights off between midnight and 05.30 hours. There is no statistical evidence to show that the lighting arrangements are a contributory factor in the number, timing or location of offences. Issued: February 2015
