Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
Officers from Oakham will start a campaign to target road safety offences. This will be for the whole of Oakham & Barleythorpe. We will utilise social media and engagement opportunities to be better informed by the public about where the offences are being committed. We will utilise the Traffic Offence Reports (TOR's) and issue these where applicable. We would like the public to join us on our social media pages and comment or tell us where there are issues. You can do this on Twitter @OakhamPolice #RoadSafety or Facebook RutlandPolice.
Issued: October 2016
What we are doing:January has been a busy month and we have continued to carry out ad hoc traffic operations. Vehicles have been recovered using devolved DVLA powers as well as seatbelt offences identified which did lead to a drug possession offence. New legislation is coming into force in March where being caught using you mobile phone will end up possibly adding six points to your licence. Issued: January 2017
