Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
There has been growing concerns with vehicle crime in the area. We have received a number of crime reports relating to "Theft from Motor Vehicles". Majority of this is criminals going around and checking car doors. Those vehicles that are insecure have had items stolen. There has been also a few incidents where forced entry has been committed as well. Due to the community concerns "Op Pioneer" has been launched in order to monitor vehicle crime in the area.

What we are doing:Your local beat teams are patrolling your area and speaking to communities giving crime prevention advice to help reduce this issue. We are using social media to speak to the hard to reach communities and have posted various crime prevention advice on social media in order to help people take precautions to avoid them becoming a victim. We have formed good relationships via Neighbourhood Watch schemes and We are urging people to ensure that they have fully locked their vehicle and manually checking the handle that their vehicle is locked. Please ensure you take valuable items out of your vehicle. Your local beat team are constantly speaking to offenders and have management programs in place to ensure they are not re-offending. Please call us if you see any suspicious activity. If you have any CCTV footage please get in touch with your local team via the Team tab on this page. Issued: November 2018
We have been notified by local Retail Shops on the Parade in Oadby that there appears to be an increase of theft from stores. Your local team are working closely with retail shops and developing new ways in getting all retail stores to talk together and share information in order to identify the shoplifters and deter them away. We are using social media and forming links together to try and combat this. Local shops are now able to update other retail shops of anyone committing crime or ASB.
