Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
ASB at The Edge Community Center Mon-Sun 4pm-10pm.
The ASB concerns youths at the location. We have addressed this in the past re gangs hanging around at the site. Recently there have been reports from members of the public regarding youths congregating at the community centre and on the MUGA. They are using abusive language to members of the public and leaving large amounts of litter.
Issued: September 2016
What we are doing:The offenders are believed to be a group of youngsters male and female around 12-17yrs. Most of them will live in the area surrounding the Edge community centre and some will use the MUGA. A good level of patrolling has been recorded by our officers. The IMPACT team (youth offending service) are working with young people in the areas at the times problems are reported throughout February with the aim of preventing anti-social behaviour by engaging with young people. Staff are reporting that there is significantly less litter about when they open up in the morning. The situation appears to have improved somewhat report-wise. This will remain open for a while longer so we can consolidate and properly evaluate the good work done to date Issued: March 2017
