Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
Noisy motorbikes at the Holwell Works waste ground.
Issued: September 2018
What we are doing:For some time has been reported that noise is caused by scrambler motorbikes using the waste ground behind the houses on Asfordby Hill and land adjoining the Saint Gobain steel works. It is believed riders are coming from outside of the area and have created a track through the wooded areas specifically for riding. There is a public footpath through the area and riders have been seen to ride on the footpaths where dog walkers go. Issued: September 2018
To tackle speeding vehicles on the B6047 between Twyford and Melton & A6006 between Melton and Loughborough.
Issued: June 2016
What we are doing:The Rural South team have been working to address speeding on the beat with problem areas being identified by local communities as villages along the B6047. In 2018 to date we have deployed our Mini Visor speed monitoring equipment in Nether Broughton. Great Dalby and Cold Overton. Updates on the ongoing work in this area can usually be seen in your Parish Magazines. Asfordby Hill and Loughborough Rd Asfordby were visited several times as was Twyford following complaints from residents there about speeding motorcycles. If you live in a village and have speeding concerns or indeed concerns about anything else please click on the "events" tab at the top and see when our team are out and about in the community near you or get in touch via email (links on this page). Issued: September 2018
