Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
In recent months 3 illegal and unlicensed musical events (raves) have been held at the abandoned chicken farm on Sandy Lane south of Melton Mowbray.
There are concerns from the community surrounding these events. The numbers attending appear to be 100-150. The location is in woodland about 1/2 mile from nearest dwellings accessed via a single track lane.
Issued: November 2017
What we are doing:A new priority for this month. The local authority (MBC) and landowner are being consulted with to establish measures to prevent future occurrences. More updates to follow. Issued: November 2017
To tackle speeding vehicles on the B6047 between Twyford and Melton & A6006 between Melton and Loughborough.
Issued: June 2016
What we are doing:The Rural South team have been working to address speeding on the beat with problem areas being identified by local communities as villages along the B6047. In 2017 to date we have deployed our Mini Visor speed monitoring equipment in Nether Broughton. Great Dalby and Cold Overton. Updates on the ongoing work in this area can usually be seen in your Parish Magazines. Asfordby Hill and Loughborough Rd Asfordby were visited several times in August 2017 as was Twyford following complaints from residents there about speeding motorcycles. If you live in a village and have speeding concerns or indeed concerns about anything else please click on the "events" tab at the top and see when our team are out and about in the community near you or get in touch via email (links on this page).
