Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
There have been numerous reports to the Police about parking on the NL63 beat which covers South Loughborough. These reports are in relations to schools, university parking and general parking issues.
Issued: October 2017
What we are doing:Police have limited powers to deal with parking issues, most issues fall under the Highways Authority (Leicestershire County Council) or the Local Authority (Charnwood Borough Council). Where Police have powers we are trying to resolve the root cause of the issue. We have to balance the issues with other problems occurring on the area and will take action where possible. The team are currently in the process of talking to partners to confirm where the issues fall and to resolve them together. We also plan on talking to schools to discourage irresponsible parking where possible.
There has been a number of incidents of antisocial behaviour reported at the Shelthorpe Golf Course on Poplar Road, Loughborough
Issued: September 2017
What we are doing:The dedicated neighbourhood team are working with the local community and partner agencies to identify the groups responsible and explore options available to prevent further ASB at the location. If you have any information that you think may help us with our enquiries then please contact us.
