Your dedicated neighbourhood team

Sgt Rod Smart

Collar number: 2992

I joined Leicestershire Police in April 2009 as a Response Sergeant at Beaumont Leys, having spent nine years in the Nottinghamshire Constabulary and three years in the New Zealand Police.

Having been a Neighbourhood Sergeant at Hinckley Road for four years, I moved over to Loughborough in February 2015 to take over responsibility for this neighbourhood team. I work with a dedicated team of officers who are committed to supporting the residents and visitors to the ward by reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.

PC Glenn Spiby

Collar number: 2041

I joined Leicestershire Police in 2003 and since then has worked mainly on the North of the County in various roles including Beat officer for a neighbouring beat.

I am looking forward to working with the beat team and getting to know the people of Rothley. We will be actively tackling anti-social behaviour and criminality of all descriptions, at all levels, within the village. I will be out and about Mountsorrel and would encourage villagers to stop and say hello and discuss any issues or concerns that they may have.

PC Rachel Chapman

Collar number: 4671

I initially joined Leicestershire Police in 2006 as a Police Community Support Officer and went onto becoming a Police Officer two years later.

I have had many roles since joining which have all been enjoyable and challenging and spent my early career both as a uniformed response and Neighbourhood Officer. In 2013 I spent a period of time in the Local Investigation unit and within Serious and Complex Crime; going onto working within a specialised department where I was responsible for the management of Violent and Sexual Offenders.

In January 2017 I decided to come back to Neighbourhood Policing and was placed on the Loughborough Central Beat. In January 2018 I moved to West Charnwood.

I thoroughly enjoy spending time serving the public; tackling community issues through engagement, consultation and multi-agency working. Also one of my areas of responsibility within our team is to take a lead on Youth Engagement, Safeguarding and Vulnerability. I am highly motivated and get great satisfaction in making a difference to people’s lives.

If you see me please stop and have a chat and feel free to discuss any issues you may be having. Our team are all dedicated to delivering the best possible service and we need your assistance to do this.

I am very approachable and as my colleagues know will rarely turn down an offer of a cup of tea.

I look forward to meeting you all.
