NPA commander - Inspector Dwight Barker
Inspector Dwight Barker took command of the Charnwood Neighbourhood Policing Area on Monday 29 February 2016, taking over from Inspector Tracey Willetts.
Inspector Barker joined Leicestershire Police in 2003 and has served mainly in uniformed roles. He started his career at Coalville, before moving to Spinney Hill and then Keyham Lane. Immediately prior to his move to Charnwood, Inspector Barker was working as a Priority and Resource Inspector based at Leicestershire Police Headquarters.
He said: “I am delighted to be the Inspector for the Charnwood Neighbourhood Policing Area. It is really pleasing to see how much great work is already underway in our communities to tackle those problems that matter most to local people.
"Our links with Charnwood Borough Council and all of our other partners, are well established and mean that we work together to ensure a joined up approach when addressing local issues.
"I am keen to continue all of this good work, and ensure that the public get value for money from the Charnwood policing team. I expect my staff to know the communities they police and be able to identify where they should be concentrating their efforts. Part of that process is to engage with the public and listen to what they have to say about their concerns."
