Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
Parking is an issue on Doncaster Road, on the pavement and now parking alongside cars already parked on the carriageway. This can completely block the highway at times. The houses have no off street parking and only street parking available.
There has not been many incidents reported to the police as the residents in the Belgrave area are often reluctant to make the phone call.
However, residents have reported directly to the city wardens and to the police patrols that pass by.
Patrols have been conducted and we found that vehicles were double parked and left on the main carriageway.
Issued: January 2016
What we are doing:Local Police Officers have worked alongside the DVLA, City Wardens, and Council Enforcement Officers assisting to deal with the vehicle offences. The Day of Action has resulted in 14 vehicles have been clamped, 4 vehicles towed away by the DVLA whilst the Council issued 13 tickets for offences and Police removed 2 vehicles for having no insurance and issued 5 tickets for obstructions. Work is continuing and this will become a regular occurrence to put a stop to the issues you have raised. Issued: February 2017
