Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
Parking is an issue on Doncaster Road, on the pavement and now parking alongside cars already parked on the carriageway. This can completely block the highway at times. The houses have no off street parking and only street parking available.
There has not been many incidents reported to the police as the residents in the Belgrave area are often reluctant to make the phone call.
However, residents have reported directly to the city wardens and to the police patrols that pass by.
Patrols have been conducted and we found that vehicles were double parked and left on the main carriageway.
Issued: January 2016
What we are doing:Local Police Officers are working alongside the DVLA, City Wardens, and Council Enforcement Officers assisting to deal with the vehicle offences and we are now running Monthly partnership enforcement days which have been well received by the community. On top of this we are meeting with the Fire Service to gain a fire engine to patrol the streets to indicate where there are blockages or illegal parking causing restrained access for Emergency Services so this can be dealt with by the partner agencies. Issued: March 2017
