Current local priorities
Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities that we will be concentrating on over the coming months:
You have told us about youths congregating in parks, particularly Hood Park and the Skate Park, Ashby. Reports include anti-social behaviour and drug use.
You have also told us about people using vehicles in an anti-social manner, in particular on The Royal Hotel car park, Ashby, where loud music has been played.
Issued: September 2017
What we are doing:We are engaging with groups of youths, in particular at Hood Park and, where there is a suggestion of drug use, police powers are being utilised to search individuals. We are, with partner agencies, working towards identifying offenders who are using their vehicles in an anti-social manner. This issue has not been resolved. However, once an offender has been identified and spoken with regarding the consequences of repeating such actions, they have refrained from acting in this way again. We have seen a reduction in reports but they are still occurring. Please get in touch with the Beat Team, by email if it is not an urgent issue if you wish, or by calling 101 in a non emergency and 999 in an emergency, so that an appropriate resource can deal with your issue. The Beat Team will be made aware of incidents which do keep occurring and this enables us to focus on your priorities.
