Salary: £97,563 - £110,148

An opportunity has arisen for an influential team player to support our Chief Constable Simon Cole in meeting the challenge of delivering policing within our local communities. We are looking for an individual with vision and strong personal leadership skills to become part of our top team.

Applicants should have a credible professional policing record of achievement and demonstrate that they can contribute in a significant way to the strategic direction of the Force. We are looking for an inspirational and focused leader with a rare mix of conceptual and strategic thinking, someone who is a team player who combines an incisive and decisive approach with a consultative and collaborative mind set. Adept at working with local people and local partners, you will have responsibility for driving our efforts to reduce harm and risk, as well as being at the forefront of developing trust and confidence. Underpinning all of this will be real drive, resilience and a passion to succeed.

Leicestershire Police serves an area covering 2,500 square miles with a population of over 1 million. It covers a wide geographical area ranging from the diverse communities of Leicester City to the surrounding market towns and rural communities of Leicestershire and Rutland. Neighbourhood policing is well embedded and the East Midlands Collaboration is key to our success.

You will play a major role in ensuring the successful delivery of collaborative services. The Chief Constable and Police and Crime Commissioner are developing plans that aim to make Leicestershire Police a leading force protecting the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland in the face of significant financial challenges that lie ahead.
