Force Management Statement 2018
Leicestershire Police has published a public-facing version of its inaugural Force Management Statement (FMS).
The 60-page document contains a wealth of information about the force, about the priority areas it is focusing on, and how it plans to ensure that resources can manage the predicted demand for service in the coming years.
All forces were required to develop Force Management Statement by May this year by government watchdogs Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS).
Chief Constable Simon Cole said: “The FMS constitutes a statement of the financial resources of the force, the demand for service on the force, and a statement of the assets which the force has to meet that demand.
“It sets out the values that underpin how we behave and operate, it highlights the key strategic priorities upon which we are focusing, it details our current performance across a range of crime types and other areas of service delivery, and highlights the many areas in which the force is developing innovative solutions to deliver a highly effective and efficient policing service to our communities.
“Critically, it also sets out the strategic threats we face, and how we intend to align resources to address those threats.”
For the purpose of this FMS, the force conducted an assessment aided by data ranging from Oct 2015 to Oct 2017. This has provided a snap shot of the force at a moment in time.
There has been a fluctuation in numbers and figures since this document was produced, as well as improvements and changes to departments across the force. These aspects will be revised in the production of successive statements.
