Keeping you informed with RSS
Our website is continually updated with news, witness appeals, diary dates, job vacancies and much, much more. To help you keep up to date with what's going on and keep you informed when new things are added to our most popular sections, we've introduced a new service to our website called RSS.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and allows you to identify the type of information your interested in and have it delivered directly to your computer.
It allows you to be kept up-to-date with the latest news from Leicestershire Police, lets you know when we want your help to solve crimes, lets you know what police events are coming up in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and keeps you informed when we're advertising jobs.
How do I start receiving updates by RSS?
In order to receive updates by RSS, you'll need a 'news reader' or 'news aggregator'. There are many different types of readers, some which are accessed by your Internet browser software, some as a stand-alone program and some that plug into your email software.
You can follow the links on the right to some related websites that provide lists of some of the more popular news readers available and websites that provide more information about RSS and news readers.
I have a news reader, what now?
On the right, there is a list of sections that are available as RSS news feeds. You can subscribe to these feeds in a number of ways depending on what news reader you are using.
You could try dragging the link into your news reader, or try cutting and pasting the link into a new feed in your news reader. Refer to the help file in your chosen news reader for more information.
Can I use Leicestershire Police's RSS feeds on my site?
We encourage the use of Leicestershire Police RSS feeds as part of other websites, subject to our Terms and Conditions.
