A new era of policing

Blueprint was launched in 2015 to redesign police services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland at a time when the force was facing significant funding cuts.

The force had already made significant savings – of £22 million – between 2009 and 2012 and it was estimated that a further £29 million of additional savings needed to be made during 2016/17. Although additional funding was made available to forces nationally through the government’s Comprehensive Spending Review, easing some of the pressure, Leicestershire Police recognises that action is still needed.
